I think the resale value of a Chevrolet Volt will be highly dependent on the price of gas in three years. If the price of petrol plummets to $2.00/gallon, then I can see the value of the car declining since people are not interested in high fuel mileage when gas prices are low. Yes, Americans are that short sighted. For further proof, look at the sales of trucks and SUV's. As gas prices swing widely, their sales swing widely with the price of gas. Anyway, back to the Volt. Look at this scenario. Gas is $5.90/gallon. Which vehicle would be more desireable?
